For Joomla 4.4 and 5 there is our module: install it, connect your account, assign it to a position. Without our module, you add the map as a Custom module.

What you get
A location map with list, search and filters on your Joomla website. You manage locations in My Store Locator.
Before you start
- A My Store Locator account (sign up free)
- A published map (status "Live")
- For the way without our module, the embed code from the Embed Studio in the app
- A Joomla administrator account (Joomla 4 or 5; for our module Joomla 4.4 or 5)
Install the module
- Download the zip file above.
- In the backend, open System → Install → Extensions. On the Upload Package File tab, drop the file into the field or click Or browse for file. Joomla confirms "Installation of the module was successful."
Connect to My Store Locator
- Open Content → Site Modules, click New and choose the module type My Store Locator.
- Paste the token into the Map token field (the module confirms "Map token recognised"). The embed code or the map link work too. Or click Connect with My Store Locator, log in and pick your map. The button needs a site running on HTTPS.
- Enter a Title, choose a Position (for example
main-topin Cassiopeia) and keep the Status at Published. On the Menu Assignment tab, choose Only on the pages selected, tick the page and click Save & Close.
Two-click consent is on by default.
Updates
The Joomla module announces new versions itself: Joomla lists them under System → Update → Extensions, and you install them there with one click. The Joomla Extensions Directory listing has been submitted and is being reviewed.
Without our module: as a Custom module
- In Embed Studio, copy the code from the iframe tab.
- In the Joomla backend, open Content → Site Modules and click New.
- Choose the module type Custom.
- Switch the editor to code view with Toggle Editor and paste the code.
- Pick a Position in your template and, under Menu Assignment, the page where the map should appear.
- Save and check the page in the frontend.
<iframe src="https://app.my-store-locator.com/#/m/YOUR-TOKEN" title="Store locator" style="width:100%;height:640px;border:0;max-width:100%" loading="lazy" allow="geolocation"></iframe>Alternative: inside an article
You can also paste the code into an article. Switch the editor to code view first. Joomla filters HTML per user group: under System → Global Configuration → Text Filters you decide whether a group may save iframes. Super Users have no filtering by default.
Privacy: two-click consent
In Embed Studio, turn on "Load the map only after a click (GDPR)" and copy the code again. Visitors then see a placeholder with a privacy notice first, and the map only loads after a click. More under GDPR & security.
If the map does not show up
- Code disappears after saving: your user group's text filter removes iframes. Adjust the filter or have a Super User paste the code.
- Module not visible: check position, menu assignment and status ("Published").
- "Map not available": the map is still a draft. Publish it in the app.
- Content Security Policy: if your site sends a CSP,
frame-srcmust allowapp.my-store-locator.com(for the widget alsoscript-src).
All options are explained in the embedding guide.
FAQ
Do I need an extension?
No. The Custom module is part of the Joomla core and is enough. Our module saves copying code, brings two-click consent and announces updates itself.
Can I show the map on several pages?
Yes. Assign the module to several menu items, or create several maps in the app, for example one per region.
Does this work with Joomla 3?
The steps are similar, though some menus have different names. Joomla 3 no longer receives security updates - we recommend a current Joomla version.
Try it with your own locations.
Create an account, import your locations, embed the map. The Free plan stays free - and you can test Pro for 14 days.
