Store locator in the IONOS website builder

In IONOS's website builder (MyWebsite) you add the map through an element for your own HTML code. Which element is available depends on your MyWebsite version.

Available todayEmbed code in an HTML element, otherwise a link or QR code.

No plugin neededNo dedicated plugin is planned for the IONOS builder - the embed code is the intended way.

What you get

A location map with list, search and filters on your IONOS website. You manage locations in My Store Locator.

Before you start

  • A My Store Locator account (sign up free)
  • A published map (status "Live")
  • The embed code from the Embed Studio in the app
  • A website in the IONOS website builder with an element for your own HTML code

Step by step

  1. In Embed Studio, copy the code from the iframe tab.
  2. Open your website in the editor and go to the page where the map should appear.
  3. Add a new element and look for HTML or Code in the element list (the name differs between MyWebsite versions).
  4. Paste the code into the element and drag it to the width and height you want.
  5. Publish the website and check the map on the live page.
<iframe src="https://app.my-store-locator.com/#/m/YOUR-TOKEN" title="Store locator" style="width:100%;height:640px;border:0;max-width:100%" loading="lazy" allow="geolocation"></iframe>

If you cannot find an HTML element, check IONOS's help to see whether your package includes it. Otherwise, link to the map with a "Find a store" button. The link and QR code are on the Link & QR tab in Embed Studio.

Note: Menu labels in the IONOS builder change from time to time. If a step looks different for you, write to us via the contact page - we are happy to help and will update this guide.

In Embed Studio, turn on "Load the map only after a click (GDPR)" and copy the code again. Visitors then see a placeholder with a privacy notice first, and the map only loads after a click. More under GDPR & security.

If the map does not show up

  • Blank in the editor: embedded code is often shown only as a placeholder in the editor. Check the published page.
  • Too small on phones: set the element height in the mobile view as well, or choose the "Mobile Sheet" template.
  • "Map not available": the map is still a draft. Publish it in the app.

All options are explained in the embedding guide.

FAQ

Does this apply to other hosting providers' builders too?

Yes. Almost every builder has an element for HTML code. The steps are the same: add the element, paste the code, publish. More under HTML & iframe.

Where is the map's data stored?

Locations and the map are stored by My Store Locator on servers in Germany, not at IONOS. Your website only embeds the map.

Can I print the map as a QR code on flyers?

Yes. You'll find the QR code on the Link & QR tab in Embed Studio.
