Documentation for developers

Everything you need to build My Store Locator into your own websites, plugins and systems - with examples to copy.

What is available

  • Embedding: the widget.js script turns a div with a token into a map. Any number of maps per page, consent mode, language, automatic height and a small JavaScript interface for page builders and single-page apps.
  • Connect flow: for plugin developers. Your plugin opens an address on our side, the user signs in and picks a map, and your plugin gets the map token back. No copying code, no secret.
  • REST API: read, create, update and archive locations, and read maps, categories, statuses and enquiries. For server-to-server integrations with an API key.
  • Webhooks: your system hears about new locations, changes, published maps, imports and enquiries right away. Every delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256.

Addresses

All interfaces run on https://app.my-store-locator.com. The servers are in Germany. Responses are JSON; errors come as { "error": "…", "message": "…" } with a matching HTTP status. The message is German by default; with the header X-MSL-Lang: en most messages come in English.

The internal endpoints that the web app itself uses are not a public interface and may change without notice. Rely only on what is described on these pages.

New

You can create webhooks through the API (for example for Zapier, Make and n8n), sort locations by creation or change date, and fetch the OpenAPI file publicly. Everything is on the REST API and Webhooks pages.

Help without code

If you only want to put your map on your website, the embedding help or one of the guides for your system is all you need. For questions about an integration, use the contact form or write to info@my-store-locator.com.
