What Agile Store Locator does well

According to wordpress.org, Agile Store Locator has more than 10,000 active installations and a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Its strengths:

  • Free core version in the WordPress directory with unlimited locations, nearest-store search and geolocation.
  • Many map providers: MapLibre with OpenStreetMap without an API key, plus Google Maps, Mapbox, Geoapify and MapTiler.
  • Extensive Pro version: CSV import and export, bulk editing, 8 templates, analytics, radius search, advanced filters, a search widget and a form where dealers can register themselves for approval.
  • WooCommerce multi-store integration (Pro).
  • 30-day money-back guarantee on the Pro licence.

If you run a WordPress site and want a solution that lives entirely inside WordPress, Agile Store Locator is a good choice.

Where the differences are

Plugin or service. Agile Store Locator becomes part of your WordPress installation and the data sits in your database. In return you install updates and keep an eye on compatibility with your theme and other plugins. My Store Locator runs outside WordPress. You paste a code snippet, we take care of updates and operations.

Cost. The Pro licence is billed yearly and covers a set number of websites. Our price depends on locations, maps, users and map views, not on the number of websites. For small networks of up to 25 locations our Free plan costs nothing.

Privacy. Both can work without Google Maps. With Agile Store Locator, where visitor requests go depends on the map provider you choose. With us, map tiles and address search run through our server in Germany, and we do not pass visitors' IP addresses on to map services. A data processing agreement (GDPR Art. 28) is available in the app. More under GDPR & security.

Which one should you choose?

Agile Store Locator is likely the better fit if

  • you only use WordPress and want to manage everything there,
  • you have a very large number of locations and prefer a fixed yearly price,
  • dealers should register themselves through a form.

My Store Locator is likely the better fit if

  • you don't want to maintain another plugin, or you use other systems besides WordPress,
  • the same locations should appear on several websites,
  • hosting in Germany, a DPA and two-click consent matter to you,
  • you prefer an interface and support in German or English from the same team.
